Problem With Speakers

hi guys...a while back i moved house and had to set up the computer again ....since then i hav had to load the master cds in order for the computer to work correctly ...but since all this has happened my speakers are sounding scraching and distorted.....i hav used other speakers in the computers ports and they seem to do the same.can any any of u guys think of anything to try before i loss the rag!!!
