Hey,

Everytime i try to install something either off a cd, a .msi file, anything it comes up with the following error:

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in a safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

I have tried various things like re-registering the windows installer, reinstalling the windows installer and everything. I think that i may have to reformat my computer, but if anyone has any suggestions before i do, please speak.

I have check to see whether i have msiexec.exe, and msi.dll and they are all there.

Cheers

Nope that didnt work. I just recently had a virus and had to use HijackThis and various anti virus/spyware programs, instructed by one of the HijackThis and Diagnosis administrators. This is really, really bugging me. Is it worth trying to fix? Or should i just transfer all my files to an external hard drive and reformat?
