 I have 2 PC's (one running XP, the other running DOS) and 1 monitor. I want a monitor switch, and my friend is giving me one of Friday next week. In the meantime I have been hot-swapping the monitor between the 2 PC's, and now I got THIS on one of them:

Is hot-swapping monitors bad? Should I stop?

I've personally never had anything bad happen but a buddy of mine fried either his monitor or his video card doing that a bunch of years ago.... maybe in like 2001 or something. I did kill a hard drive once hot swapping it

You should never hot swap a monitor. It can and will damage the monitor/graphics card.

The error occurred in your video drivers - not much thought needed to connect this to monitor swapping.

A BSOD is where Windows shuts down the system to prevent damage to the system - but if you're causing it, it can't shut down until it knows something is wrong (so the damage may already be done).
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
