I recently tried to upgrade from XP to XP Pro, but it only got so far and then stopped at "INstall SP2 disk" and then went to can't find ASMS file. I went to Microsoft and did what they told me, now it won't even load, it says loading and then says I have a fatal error. Is there any way to get out of this or cancel the install? I REALLY don't want to have to reformat. Thanks

Please don't use such large text, it's very difficult to read.

Are you upgrading from XPHome or XP Media Center Edition?

Have you slipstreamed a copy of SP2 into your installation CD? http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windo..._slipstream.asp

My eye problems have recently increased and I'm having difficult reading posts. (23 Nov 2017)
FYI - I am completely blind in the right eye and ~30% blind in the left eye.

If the eye problems get worse suddenly, I may not be able to respond.
If that's the case and help is needed, please PM a staff member for assistance.
