I am planning on doing a site redesign soon and am looking for any talented graphic artists who may be willing to contribute some of their time to making a logo(s) for the new site. I would want the logo to be able to be used in banners, or as a screen wide logo, or even to just appear in the upper left, middle or right corners I know this is broad but I guess I am just looking for a generic logo that I can adapt to fit all these purposes.

I come to you, my members, because I personally have no artistic ability and so need all the help I can get

Thanks in advance

Well here is one try.. it is unfinished as yet. I wanted to add a text effect.. but it makes the file size so huge.. just wanted to get opinions about the over all look.

Looks good. Would you mind if I add some animation and re-submit it?

It is not using Gimp. After working with that one for a while, I found that it was a little more complicated that I wanted to get into right now. All these effects are using that GIF program that I told you about a while ago. Still learning how to use it though.

I am probably going to keep them non-animated as they will appear at the top of every screen we do not want to drive people nuts

When I say logo, i mean like what devshed.com has at the top of their pages, or javacoolsoftware.com or any other site.

I figured that you would not prefer the animated ones, but you have to admit, they can be eye-catching

I may be able to make a static image from them, and still use one of the textures though.

LOL Zain.. everyone is of course entitled to an opinion. I myself do suck at making animations lol. That is why I didn't put one up. Your comment is a bit derrogatory tho, IMHO.

Dont even think about someone elses site when doing the logo  We want to be original! The only reason I gave those two sites is they have different types of logo sections for a website. One is a long banner, while the other is a smaller corner logo.

You are right Zain, I am not good at animations...yet. It is not bad for the less then an hour from seeing that I could do it from a shareware application that does GIF files.

Is there a free program that you would suggest that can do animations?
