Hello gurus,

For the last month or so, I've had this persisting problem. If I try to install/upgrade *any* software whatsoever, it gacks at the very end, with an error message stating "internal error 2932" and "C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{long string of numbers and letters}\ARPPRODUCTICON.exe, 131"

This is driving me crazy! Does anyone know how to fix it? I've googled myself blue, but to no avail. None of my spyware/virus scanners are detecting anything out of the ordinary.

Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi... you're my only hope!

I'm having the same problem as Godmoma, the 2932 error. And it's only been the last few weeks. I've done a Windows XP repair and downloaded the latest Windows Installer and done everything I could think of. I've done registry repairs, virus and spyware sweeps with no improvement. The link on the Microsoft site recommended by Monty007 didn't help since even the new version of the Windows Installer behaves the same. And like Godmoma, the problem affects a variety of software that fails to install, even MS's own little Clear Type Tuner.

It's slightly encouraging that the problem affects others. But loving company aside, it's a sad state to be in.
Grateful for any solutions you can suggest.

May not be much help, but the error is listed here:

Try removing the Windows Installer and installing a freshly downloaded copy
Try the Windows Installer cleanup utility: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Try this free utility to re-register the Windows Installer dll's - http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix#Standard_version
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Alas, I tried everything USASMA suggested and still no relief from the 2932 Installer errors.

Thanking you all for thinking about my problem and hoping that you will post any new suggestions.
