Discover.exe Error Message

when i boot up my computer i get this error message. the discover.exe file cannot be found. then it says to re install the software and it will solve the problem. what does this mean?

yes im running windows xp. no i dont have a program called DISC

Media Center or just XP? If you do CTRL ALT DEL and yu see under processes anything related to discover?

media center. its telling me to re-install this file how do i do it the file name is DISCover Drop & Play System Executable

Slip the CD with XP MC in the PC and try to do a repair with sfc/scannow and have your XP disc ready since it will need to copy those files from the disc. Here is an excellent tutorial on that subject.

i read it then when i went to start run sfc/scannow my computer said they couldnt find that file

You don't have the XP Media Centre disk? If you do a search on your computer START SEARCH discover.exe what happens?
