Hi all, i'm trying to install my copy of XP on a new pc, my problem is very simple, my xp disk is an upgrade version, & I need a previous full copy of 95, 98 etc to install xp, Now silly me, I've given my old os disks away over the years, Is there any shortcuts about that will allow me to install my xp upgrade cd, or is it a case of begging, borrowing or stealing............... Many Thanks in advance

There's only one way to approach a problem like this without spending a lot of time and money, and even then.....

Use your XP CD to perform a CLEAN install on an EMPTY hard drive. During the process, the installer will "ask" for proof of (any previous MS OS). Simply stick/jam/shove your ME cd in "there", the installer will girate, wash, dry, and pronounce, "well, alrighty then"
