Computer Will Not Boot

I am using windows XP Home and have had trouble booting my computer. when I turn it on there is an error message stating "unable to find the following file......\windows\system32\config\system

any ideas?

Sorry for the delay. It looks like either your registry is corrupted or it has trouble reading that file. Are you still having the problem?

Normally this is an error loading the registry. But you can try going to the Recovery Console (an outside chance) and using fixboot, fixmbr, and bootcfg /rebuild - just in case they fix something.

Otherwise, you'll have to boot to Safe Mode and try System Restore. If you're unable to get into Safe Mode, then there's some more advanced options that can be used to rebuild your registry from a PE environment or the Recovery Console (generally with less success than System Restore).
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
