Maxtor Hard Drive

ok, so i found this old hard drive in my garage , a 40gb one, looks perfectly good, no dust or anything and i need help with making it into an external hard drive
its a maxtor D740X-6l and im wondering if its IDE
thanks
Also, which external enclosure should i get for under 20 dollars?
if i do make it inot an external hard drive, should it be a slave?

It's probably a ATA, look on the back and there should be two rows of twenty pins on the left side, this is where you plug in the IDE cable.

If you can install it internally change the jumper on the rear of the hdd to slave and attach it to the middle connector that the other hdd is attached to. Installing it internally is your best bet, it usually will have less complications.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

which enclosure should i get for my hard drive and how should the jumper be set?
