Hey all,

I don't know what's going on (bet you heard that before). So I ran several virus check programs including avast and the new AVG Internet Security programs (both updated prior to running) with -0- infections found. Then I ran Ewido AntiSpyware and XoftSpy and they found a few cookie traces but nothing to really be concerned with.

So here's what's happening. I'm using a Gateway Pentium desktop running WinXP with Serv Pack 2. The first indication that concerns me is a message telling me that my virtual memory is low (this just started happening). Then the computer takes forever (up to 3 or 4 minutes) to load and run programs. For instance I tried to run windows explorer and it took 3 minutes and 35 seconds to load and allow me to access my drives.

The final symptom is when I run windows task manager CPU usage shows 100% and the drives just keep churning and churning away.

So here's my HijackThis log. I would really be interested if any of you gurus could find something I've missed. And thanks in advance for any suggestions:

Hello,

A remark first..

I notice from your log that you are running more than one different Anti-Virus programs with Auto-protect enabled. AVG and Avast.
Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously!
The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown.

I would strongly advise you to only have one Anti-Virus with the Auto-Protect feature running at any one time!
If you decide to only keep one Anti-Virus installed,
you should uninstall the other(s) through the Add or Remove Programs option in Control Panel.

Also, uninstall your Ewido, because this version is outdated. Ewido is AVG Antispyware now.

Do you have Netpumper or Bitgrabber or BitRoll installed? If so, uninstall them via start > controlpanel > software > add/remove programs. This because they are bundled with the malware you are dealing with (swizzor aka lop).
Also look if next are present in software > add/remove programs and uninstall them:

CiD Help / CiD Manager
Download Plugin for Internet Explorer
Zone Media

In case, during uninstall, when asked for the uninstall Verification, please enter the numbers that will appear in the window

Then reboot. Important!

After reboot,

* Download Deljob.exe and save it on your desktop.
Doubleclick Deljob.exe.

A log, (logit.txt) should open afterwards. This log will be present on your desktop
Post the contents of the logfile in your next reply together with a new Hijackthislog.
