New to the forum, so be nice if my description of my problem is confusing.

Here's my problem.

I run IE 7.0. Recently, had a problem with popup pages not working or opening a page in a new tab or new page. Nothing at all. I turned off popup blocker and still had the same problem. So, I decided to delete my IE and reinstall. Well, this didn't solve my problem. Seems like I have several versions of IE on my computer.
Once I did a reinstall, the problem still exists. Uhggggg..... but that's not my major problem.

When I rebooted, I was missing my Quick Launch Buttons that sit next to the start menu.

I did a search on the Internet and a microsoft help file told me to do ==== delete this line in my registry.

No problem, but I don't have a classicshell in my registry. So, what should I do?

Hey! I fixed my problem. On the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties page, I had unchecked the show quicklaunch buttons. I checked it and everything was back to running normally. Show this thread <closed> thanks.

With regard to the popup problem, I knwo that AdAware SE's Ad-Watch monitoring will cause that (as a security measure). Perhaps your anti-spyware program is to blame? (You are using an antispyware program, right? )
