When I right click on the screen and select "Properties" I only get the theme option.
All my tabs have disappeared. I went to Kellys Corner and downloaded the reg file to display all tabs, but still nothing.
I can't change my screen saver or background or any properties.

Any ideas on how to get the tabs back?

Are your graphic card drivers conflicting? Check under my computer hardware and look for your yellow exclamation marks.

try to do a repair with sfc/scannow and have your XP disc ready since it will need to copy those files from the disc. Here is an excellent tutorial on that subject.

Is this on your home PC or a Work one. Normally when these go this is because they have been blocked in the security GPO templates.

This is my home computer and the graphics card has been installed for quite some time now and I never had this problem, but I will check for the exclamation points when I get home tonight.

The drivers were fine, turns out the solution was to rename a file in windows\system32\comctl32.dll and to copy the newer version from winSxS folder.
I also downloaded a file called windowshell.xml.

All is well now so thank you for all your help.

Tricky
