but more importantly there are some links to others with far more experience with SFC.EXE that may help you out.
FYI - there was a problem with Dells and MCE and the workings of SFC.EXE - but I'm not familiar enough with the Sony methods to see if that is the case here.
Another option would be to do a non-destructive System Restore (if the option is available) - that will do the same thing as SFC.EXE, but you'll have to visit Windows Update again for all your updates.
