I have just installed a fresh Windows XP SP2 on my Compaq Presario Desktop.

I need to download the video drivers, sounds drivers, etc.

The video card is the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Graphics Card. The corresponding driver on the HP site is
sp26629.

The download and extraction works fine. However, it then keeps failing with the following error.

You must be logged on as an administrator to install this update. Update has been cancelled. (9999).

There have been several postings of this nature on the web.
Ok, I have logged in as administrator (yes, I do have admin privileges), my PC has no virus, I've cleaned up the registry with TweakNowRegCleaner, and my PC has no spyware.

What else can I try?

Thanks,

I've seen this problem with the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 quite a bit. There's no easy fix for it that we've found at work although we usually manage to force an install after a couple of days of trying different drivers. Maybe try the drivers from the ATI website rather than the Compaq drivers?

Thanks John.
I loaded the ATI drivers directly from the AMD website and it works fine.
