Does anyone else have a problem with a new window showing up on the Task Bar for just a second and then disappearing quickly? Too quick to read anything and it happens very often. Am running Windows XP Pro, IE, and ISP is cable at 6M.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Can you get a screen shot of it before it flashes off? Have your finger ready at print screen button and push it as soon as your mysterious window comes up. Then open Paint click on Edit then paste. Now you will have a frozen image that you can read.

It might be something like Windows Defender doing a quick internet check and then shutting down.

In case you do have HP Software installed, then this little popup may be caused by the hpcmpmgr.exe ( HP Component Manager ).
Had the same here

To disable this,

So go to start > run and type: msconfig
Choose the tab "startup"
Unselect hpcmpmgr.exe in there.
Then reboot.

Miekiemoes, thanks for the help. That seemed to do the trick, I haven't seen the little annoyance since! Hope that victoria has resolved her problem too! I used the tool in ccleaner to remove the exe from my registry. As we say at my work when someone solves a problem "Your the man"
