I got this computer to fix. The only problem was spyware and trojans. I ran SpybotSD Rogue Remover, and have McAfee antivirus and firewall on it now to ensure protection. Now, when I start the computer up and try to log onto someones name, I click their picture, enter the password, click login, and it hangs, forever. It requires a restart. It does this on ALL of the accounts. The only way I can log in is in SAFEMODE. Please help. I ran CHKDSK and everything is fine there.

Have you run another antivirus scan like Avast or AVG? McAfee itself causes slowdowns many times.

No, I havnt. Should I uninstall McAfee in SAFEMODE? If so, then what does it have to do with the lockup on regular mode when it doesnt lockup in safemode. Thanks

Hello,

If you want to get rid of mcafee read this article, http://tools.mcafeehelp.com/doc.php?siteid...&support=ts it will tell you how and give you tools to do it.

The AV could be at fault, or it could be something different, the reason safemode works is because it loads only the basic things needed to run windows and diagnose problems.

Have you tried a system restore?
Regards,

Alan.

Problem solved. Simply had to uninstall McAfee in SafeMode for whatever reason and it works now. THanks all
