Does this only happen when you want to use the sidebar? In that case try to do a repair with sfc /scannow and have your XP pro disc ready since it will need to copy those files from the disc. Here is an excellent tutorial on that subject.

Is this a Vista error or an XP error? If you're trying to run the Vista sidebar under XP - that's likely the cause of the error.

I'm not aware that it should work in XP - and there are differences in how files are treated between XP and Vista.

Just a sec - let me check on my VM.....

The error that I get indicate that this is a file system problem (not compatible with XP) - but I didn't copy over all the other Sidebar files to test that. It may be that some of the .dll's that it requires are different on XP - if so, there's a fix but it's way, way beyond my ability!

It's possible that that caused it (since the sidebar must be rendered by the video) - but that's a bit beyond my abilities at this point.
