Hi, :trumpet:

I have this old PowerbookG3 labtop (OS 8.6) which I would like to use again; installed it next to a printer, and started it to check if it all worked and 'yes' it did. A few days later I started it up and got a messaqge that some kind of file was missing and that I should reboot from cd. Did that but used a OS 8.5 cd: installation of the OS stopped and ........ the cd is stuck now in the labtop; no way I can get it out. :flowers:

Once it comes out I think I should use the OS 8.6 cd and after that I want to upgrade the system to 9.2.1.

Anybody a tip how to get the cd out?

Thanks.

On the face of the CDrom there is a pin hole. Straighten a paper clip and insert it. This should trigger the emergency tray release. Provided the drive is not damaged. A broken gear or other part may block it from opening.

Yes. The release feature on CD\DVDs are somewhat standard. Look for the pin hole on the face of the player.
