Hello Real Blond,

I am SifuMike and I will be helping you. :flowers:

I see you are running three registry protectors - WinPatrol, a2guard, AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 guard. You should be running only one, as having more than one will slow your computer.

So disable two of the registry protectors (leave one turned on).

I dont know how you disable A2guard, but you should be able to do it at the a2 menu.

To disable AVG guard:
Open AVG Antispyware and in the main window click "Resident Shield", then toggle the AVG Anti-Spyware active protection 'off' by clicking 'Change state' which will then change the protection status to 'inactive'.

To disable WinPatrol
Right-click the running icon of Winpatrol in the system tray and choose exit. It will automatically restart at next boot.

************

Open HijackThis
Go to ‘config’
Go to ‘misc tools’
Press the button ‘open uninstall manager’
Press 'save list'
A notepad file will open.
Post the content here in your reply.
Close HijackThis.

************

I see that you are running msconfig in /auto mode which means that you may have selectively removed some items in the past from the startup procedure.

This can be bad if they are malware, so we would like you to reenable those startup entries by doing the following:

Please click on start, then run, and type msconfig and then press enter. When the window opens click on the startup tab and make sure there are checkmarks in every entry. Then press ok until you are out of the program.
If it asks to reboot, do not reboot. It is not necessary to reboot to get the items to show up in HijackThis.

Now please create a new Hijackthis Log and post it, and tell me how your computer is running.

please make a donation so I can keep helping people just like you! You can donate using a credit card and PayPal. Thank you!

Thank you SifuMike for your reply.. I am at my wits end..
I am posting the logs that you requested below. However, I now have AVG anti spyware running alone, with nothing but ZoneAlarm. I disabled all others as requested.. Is that enough for protection?
You should also know that since my last post, I installed and ran Spysweeper, and Spyware Doctor. I must say I have run and rerun the above plus SuperAnti spyware, Spybot, Ad-Aware, plus Bit Defender, Panda on Line scan and Counterspy After all is said and done, every report came back negetive. My computer should be clean. But, with it all, my internet just crawls. It takes a long time to load pages. So.. here are my logs.

Hi Real Blond,

I now have AVG anti spyware running alone, with nothing but ZoneAlarm. I disabled all others as requested.. Is that enough for protection?

Yes. I am assuming you mean you have AVG anti spyware Guard, ZoneAlarm (firewall), along with you AVG Free Edition antivirus. Those are all OK. :flowers:

But I see you still have a2guard enabled and you need to disable it.

I installed and ran Spysweeper, and Spyware Doctor.

Please dont run other programs while I am working on your log. It just makes your log a lot harder to diagnose and you may be slowing your computer down.

By installing Spysweeper, and Spyware Doctor you may be making your performance worse not better. They both have registry protectors and use CPU.
You do not need all these anti-malware programs, as it is overkill. One should be enough.

Did you disable the registry protector in Spysweeper, and Spyware Doctor?
If not, then please do so.

To disable SpySweeper

1. Open Spysweeper and click on Options > Program Options and uncheck "load at windows startup".
2. On the left click "shields" and then uncheck everything there.
3. Uncheck "home page shield".
4. Uncheck "automatically restore default without notification".
5. Exit the program.

To disable Spyware Doctor
1. From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
2. Uncheck "Activate OnGuard".

To disable Windows Defender
Open Windows Defender.
Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

To disable WinPatrol
Right-click the running icon of Winpatrol in the system tray and choose exit. It will automatically restart at next boot.

I see you have two P2P file swapping programs installed: eMule and LimeWire PRO 4.12.3

Any peer-to-peer file swapping program, such as Audiogalaxy, Bearshare, Blubster, E-Mule, Gnucleus, Grokster, Imesh, KaZaa, KaZaa Lite, Limewire, Morpheus, Shareaza, WinMX and Xolox can degrade system performance and consume vast amounts of storage and may create security issues as outsiders are granted access to internal files. They are often bundled with adware or spyware.

Clean and infected file swapping programs:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/
http://p2p.malwareremoval.com/

I personally would not use them too risky, but it is up to you.

If you must a have one then uninstall one of them.

Also, since you are running ZoneAlarm firewall, you need to uninstall Norton Personal Firewall
Running two firewalls will give you problems and decrease the reliability of it seriously!

I see two anti-virus programs listed in your
uninstall manager listing: AVG antivirus , Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0

There is also traces of BitDefender in you log. Did you uninstall BitDefender previously?

I do not recommend that you have more than one anti virus product installed and running on your computer at a time.

The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, then those products which do not encrypt the virus strings within them can cause other anti virus products to create "false alarms".

It can also lead to a clash as both products fight for access to files which are opened again this is the resident/automatic protection. In general terms, the two programs may conflict and cause false alarms - When the anti virus software tells you that your PC has a virus when it actually doesn't.

Also it can cause system performance problems; your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
Therefore please go to add/remove in the control panel and remove all anti-virus programs exept for one.

************

Reboot and post a fresh Hijackthis log and tell me how your computer is running.

Open HijackThis
Go to ‘config’
Go to ‘misc tools’
Press the button ‘open uninstall manager’
Press 'save list'
A notepad file will open.
Post the content here in your reply.
Close HijackThis.

Thank you SifuMike..
The following have been DELETED from the computer.
SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Windows Defender, Norton, Bit Defender,. Kaspersky, Super Anti Spyware, Panda Active Scan.
I have retained eMule and LIme Wire, as the sites you suggested I Look at show that they are clean, however I will use only one at a time if I need to.
The only virus, firewall running are: AVG and Zone Alarm.
I still have a-square (formally eweido) and Win Patrol on the computer, but they are not running nor will I run them.

The computer runs well except for the Internet problem witch is the same. Very Slow to Load and Slow to Load Pages.

Here is the new Save List.

Hi Real Blond,

Ok, that listing looks good. :flowers: I can't see anything suspicious in your Hijackthis log or scans.

Please read this page to improve system performance:

My expertise is malware not Windows so, I suggest you go to PC Pitstop and run the full tests there.
http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/default.asp

You can take your resulting Tech Express link to the forums and explain your problem. I can look at it if you like, but they'll know more what to look for from a gamer's point of view. Some of those guys are geniuses and they'll have it figured out and fixed up in no time.

Sorry I could not help you more.
