My task manager for some unknown reason is deactivated. I did have to deal with some infections. Would
like to know how to reactivate. Running windows xp pro sp/2.

Did it deactivate during the cleaning process or before? If so, I'd post back with that info. in your HJT thread. If, however, this has occured since you were declared clean then I'd try system restore. Pick a date and time just before the task manager stopped working.

How do you know it's deactivated? What particular error message do you get?

Can you access it by right clicking on the Task Bar and selecting Task Manager? Can you go to Start...Run...and type in "taskmgr.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter?

The error I got states " Task manager has been disabled by the administrator". This PC is my personel
computer and I've made no changes. I've tried system restore with negitive results. When I right click, the
task manager in greyed out. Thank's for any help.
