Hello All..
I have a annoying problem and not sure what it is.My ? is has anyone seen this kind of behavior and can something be done to stop it. Does not seem to be destructive but would like to know what is causing it. When I get on the internet using IE 6 on a Dell with xp home. I am seeing my curser blink to the hour glass and a program with no name blinks on the task bar. This blink only lasts for a sec and does nothing else. I have avg anti virus, and spyware from avg, spybot search and destroy, ad-aware se, windows defender, ccleaner. I do have a couple other pc's on my lan and do not have the same thing going on on them. Course I suspect trojan, keylogger, or root kit but have done numerous scans and found nothing. Someone suggested that it could be a installed program updating. but I have turned several suspects off using the task manager and still the blinking on the task bar goes on.

Hi, Does it only happen when you have IE open? Have you checked the taskbar properties. Give this program a try and see how you go.

Sounds like spyware.

Good day Monty .. I will try the program that you have mentioned. Thanks for the task bar properties tip. I looked but found nothing that seem to help. Will try a full day of scans. Oh and yes it is seems to only happen when I am using IE. Maybe time to try a different browser.

Monty007...
I downloaded the SUPERantispyware and liked it much. It did find lots of cookies but no loggers or root kits ect, ect. Ran scans after scans and still have my problem. I am now thinking of downloading another browser to see if it is IE specific. Its snowing outside here today so nice day to be inside working on the old pc. Thanks so much for your interest and reply.. lm
