Hi to everyone. I visit several forums and found this one by a link. It looked pretty good so I've joined. I am now retired and, like the other forums, probably going on record as the oldest member- Born 9th May 1934.
I spent most of my adult life in Aviation and, since about 1984, became associated with computers and was then asked by my boss to setup our Airport computers (Apples) At home I was playing with a zx81 and moved onto a 286. First word processor was a Wordstar! Later had to battle to setup a network, without the help of these very useful forums but by reading a massive book, most of which I did not understand. I was luck to get into the Vista Beta program early and since then (over a year now) have put all my efforts into that. My reward, I thought, was the satisfaction in helping people fighting with the new look technology. But the pleasant surprise was a free copy of the RTM from MS. I now run it, totally tuned to my requirements, as my main OS. Old habits die hard and I still keep XP running on another partition which I soimetimes visit. I have a reasonable education in English but not in typing. Combined with fat fingers, you will have to overlook some of my shocking spelling in my future postings!
