My Ms-dos 4.01 5.25 Install Diskette Won't Read

my ms-dos 4.01 install diskette says general reading falure when i try to run it and i don't know how to fix it please help me

Put the floppy in another computer and run scandisk or chkdsk on the A: drive. If they still can't be read after that, they're dead.

but my other computers have no 5.25 inch floppy drives

Well, if the computer that has the 5.25 drive has scandisk, you can run it from there. Or if nothing is installed on the old one you can put FreeDOS or something onto it, and then run scandisk.
