The day I tried to open my defragment folder only to find it came up with a message "Open up with?" and I tried to browse to find the Microsoft Management Console to open with. Not there. I decided to re-install Windows XP as this was not the only item not there. Anyways I re-installed, now I am finding that items such as , Games, Command Prompt, Calculator and other items are not installed. I also had to search for Notepad and found it and re-install my printer. Also alot of my programs were gone. Thank God I still have the disks for them. Help I have no idea what to do now.

Thank you very much in advance

If you did a true reinstall, your programs and data should be gone. Since you are missing important parts of your OS, perhaps you should try reinstalling again.
When you are done, install your security software beofre you go online. Get all the updates it wants to, then visit MS for more updates. After that, reinstall your programs.
