Hi,

Hopefully a quick question - trying to delete a WMV file, but it tells me that it's in use by another application? I can't see that anything is running - any ideas how to get rid of it? Everything else seems to be fine?

Thanks.

Have you checked the file Properties?
Right click the file, and select Properties.
Make sure it's not set to Read-only.
If it is, uncheck it, click Apply, and click OK.
Now try to delete it.

If none of the above works, here are a couple of programs, you can try:

Eraser
Unlocker
Delete Doctor

Another idea is to boot into safe mode and try to delete it.

Thanks, fozzie. But I can't take credit for it. It won a worldwide competition for being the best lie of 2006. It had been submitted by a teenager in the US into the competition.
