Hi beyonder74,

Welcome to Bleeping Computer.

Sorry for the delay, the forum is pretty busy and logs get left behind.

I have examined your HijackThis log and I see no signs of malware. It is clean.

Since your prep work has turned up no evidence of an infection I am pretty sure that this is a software issue rather than an infection.

The research I have done on your problem indicates that this may be some kind of compatibility issue between Internet Explorer and a third-party program. I found one topic on another forum where the conflict was with a popup blocker installed by a security suite (not Norton). Another it was with a site advisor program. Both of these however were IE7, it may be something different in your case.

Could you please tell me exactly what you are doing when IE crashes? Is it something you can make happen by doing a certain set of operations or by visiting a certain website?

Another question -- does the onset of this problem coincide with the installation of any new software, or an update of an existing program?

Cheers,

Dave
