Pop Ups And Slow Computer

I have been getting pop ups and my computer has been running very slow as of late, ever since i opened an .exe file that i wasn't what i thought it was. I have ran smit fraud fix and ad-aware but it is still slow and still having pop ups what should i do, a while ago i had the problem and someone gave me a program that worked with smit fraud fix and it worked really well but i must've deleted them and dont know what it was.

In order for us to properly diagnose your computer's problems,can you give us more information about the pop-ups?
i.e.,Name at top of pop-up window,URL in address bar or an Icon description?
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
