Windows Xp Installation Problem, Please Help....

hi everyone, i have a windows xp installed on my pc. I had my computer for few years now,
well my problem is , i have all bunck of virus in my pc so i tried to re install my windows XP. I lost my original copy but luckily i have a back-up burned on a disc. when i tried to re install it, when i was half way through the computer stops and aske me to" put the disc labeled "windows xp professional"to the cd - rom.
but the cd was in the rom the whole time, What could be wrong? please help? .... i dont know what else to do, i restart the pc and try to install again, but it did the same thing, i tried borrwing someones windows XP ( also a copy) and didnt work. ! is there anything i could do??

yes i do.
now its saying that i need to terminate scsi, i dont know much about pc. and i dont know how to terminate it. can naybody tell me what is the default settings for rebooting my pc.

Can you give us the precise error message plus the make/model of your PC?
