Can you edit the tv shows that you have recorded in a video editing software?

If you can open it up in a video editing program, I believe that you can edit them (like to edit out commercials and whatnot). I'm unsure of the legality of it, although I see a lot of edited stuff on YouTube.com.
War produces veterans, wounded both physically and mentally. They have sacrificed for us.....and it is now our job to help these veterans, as they have already helped us in ways we will never know, in ways that we cannot fathom, and in ways that we take granted every day.
