Setting Up A Server..

I need some help. I want to set up my old Windows 2000 computer and/or Netgear router into a server/servers so I can fiddle with them with some other computers and such in my household. Can anybody help me to get started?

Ty. I think I've found what I need from there.

Any ideas on how I would go about makeing my own game world to fiddle around with on my PS2?
