My sisters boyfriend was at my home for a few days while I was out of town and admitted to messing with the computer - I think he may have accidentally downloaded some spyware or worse...I cant open any of my anti-spyware software and sometimes I will open my browser and it will immediately close. PLEASE HELP!

Hello,

This is a nasty log with lots of backdoors present.
Please perform the next instructions in the right order..

Go to start >controlpanel > software and uninstall spamblocker utility, because this is an unwanted program and related with Hotbar adware/spyware!!

Reboot afterwards!!

After reboot,

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

* Download Killbox.
Click killbox.exe.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".
Click the button: All Files (!important!)
Now it should flash green.

Now copy the next bold part:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\wincomm.exe
C:\WINDOWS\cmonsvc322.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache\msscmc43.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dlha\mstask32.com
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\1167880407o22ua.exe

Open 'file' in the killboxmenu on top and choose Paste from clipboard

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be removed on next reboot and asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES
If you don't get that message, reboot manually.

Your computer should reboot now.

On your C:\, there should be a Killbox folder created. This folder contains the files we killboxed.
I need the contents of that folder, so rightclick the C:\killbox folder and choose "Copy to" > "compressed/zipped folder".
This should create a Killbox.zip.

Go to this page.
Enter the url of this thread in the first field.
Where it says, browse to the file that you want to submit, click the browse button next to it and browse to the Killbox.zip.

Then click the Send File button below.
Then,

I notice that you do not seem to be running Antivirus software. This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world.
That's why I want you to install it first!!

Avira, AVG OR Avast OR Active Virus Shield (uncheck the Security Toolbar during install) are good FREE antivirus.

Perform a full scan and let it delete everything it is finding!

* Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

* Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Windows Safe Mode, restart your computer and, just before Windows starts to load, tap the F8 key a few times.
Choose Safe Mode from the menu that will appear and press Enter.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

Thank you so much for the help - the cpu is already running infinitely better. I also have a question though, my firewall has been disabled or something and I can't open it and enable it. Any thoughts (I use sygate) ? Anyway, here are the logs you requested:

Hello,

You have/had some nasty backdoors present and that explains why your Sygate won't work. This is caused by them. It may have corrupted some parts of Sygate. That's why it is better you reinstall Sygate again.

From Killbox:

ALERT: [BDS/Mytobor.C.1 backdoor] --> !KillBox/msscmc43.exe <<< Contains a signature of the (dangerous) backdoor program BDS/Mytobor.C.1 Backdoor server programs
ALERT: [TR/Agent.RN.5 trojan] --> !KillBox/mstask32.com <<< Is the Trojan horse TR/Agent.RN.5
ALERT: [BDS/VanBot.D backdoor] --> !KillBox/wincomm.exe <<< Contains a signature of the (dangerous) backdoor program BDS/VanBot.D Backdoor server programs
!KillBox/CSTFZ.EXE infected: Trojan.Downloader.FFZ

But let's clean up more first..
Delete the Killbox-folder and the killbox.zip folder.

Check and fix next entry in Hijackthis again:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tchelnpi] C:\WINDOWS\System32\aoodhfxj.exe

Delete next file if still present:

"C:\WINDOWS\System32\a.exe

* Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:

  • Under Browsing History, click "Delete".
  • Click "Delete Files", "Delete cookies" and "Delete history"
  • Click Close below.
* Clean your Cache and Cookies in Firefox (In case you also have Firefox installed):
  • Go to Tools > Options.

  • Click the Clear now button below.. A new window will popup what to clear.
  • Select all and click the Clear button again.
  • Click OK to close the Options window
* Clean other Temporary files + Recycle bin
  • Go to start > run and type: cleanmgr and click ok.
  • Let it scan your system for files to remove.
  • Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
  • Press OK to remove them.
Your version of Java is outdated and needs to be updated to take advantage of fixes that have eliminated security vulnerabilities.
Updating Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.0.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
    - Examples of older versions in Add or Remove Programs:
    • Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6-windows-i586.exe to install the newest version.
Open notepad and copy and paste next present in the quotebox below in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List]
"C:\\DOCUME~1\\Owner\\LOCALS~1\\Temp\\bl4ck.com"=-
"C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\a.exe"=-
"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe"=-

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
It should look like this: Posted Image
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.
(In case you are unsure how to create a reg file, take a look here with screenshots.)

Download and Save blacklight to your desktop.
F-Secure Blacklight: https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement.
click > scan then > next,
You'll see a list of all items found - if found, so don't worry it tells that there were no files found.
In case hidden files were found, Don't choose for rename yet! I want to see the log first, because legit items can also be present there...
There must be also a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers)
I need that log later.

* Download Combofix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combofix.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished and after reboot, it should open a log, combofix.txt.
Post this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog and the log from blacklight.
