Hi all,

I just read a post by sumone else on the forum regarding an infection. He said that He's never had to ask for help to get his computer fixed... I thought myself to be in the same category... we'll that was till Ircbot struck.. My eyes are sore since then due to lack of sleep. I work in a restaurant in Mumbai, India. My boss uses a broadband to access his emails, and check up on his stock investments online. I also check up on my mail and orkut from this PC, which is basically used to run our restaurants billing software. (Hotel Manager)

Now I dunno how exactly but this damm thing got infected with Ircbot. That caused my PC to give quite a sluggish performance. I tried to remove it twice but it keeps comming back. My boss knows just the basics of computers (that too taught by me.) So he thinks I messed it up sumhow. I tried to make him understand that now-a-days just being connected to the internet is enough to get you infected but to no avail.

I need your help... and I submit myself to you. :flowers: help me or I am dead meat.

P.S.: I think this may be too long a post ... but I thought there might be sumthing sumwhere which might be triggering it every now n then....

Please do not post in code - its hard to read

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

======================
Download Superantispyware

http://www.superantispyware.com/superantis...efreevspro.html

Install it and double-click the icon on your desktop to run it.
It will ask if you want to update the program definitions, click Yes.
Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button.
Click the Scanning Control tab.
Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked:
o Close browsers before scanning
o Scan for tracking cookies
o Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
o Please leave the others unchecked.
o Click the Close button to leave the control center screen.
On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer.
On the left check C:\Fixed Drive.
On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan.
Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click OK.
Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click Next.
It will quarantine what it found and if it asks if you want to reboot, click Yes.
To retrieve the removal information for me please do the following:
o After reboot, double-click the SUPERAntispyware icon on your desktop.
o Click Preferences. Click the Statistics/Logs tab.
o Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
o It will open in your default text editor (such as Notepad/Wordpad).
o Please highlight everything in the notepad, then right-click and choose copy.
Click close and close again to exit the program.
Please paste that information here for me with a new HijackThis log.
