I have already been through the problems solving pages using lots of HijackThis logs etc and have been advised to post the issue here.
My Internet Explorer 7 seems to work fine, but I occasionally get problems using any links at all (from a search engine, for example), and at the moment cannot view any link to documents on any site.
Any ideas?

Dunnit.

I found that the registry already had the file so I couldn't create it again. I don't want to opt for number two because I am concerned about security.

When I try to open a pdf I get the "do you want to open or save" window, and whatever I select it directs me to a new IE window which fails to load, closes down, and offers me the "do you wnat to open or save" window again.

Is there anything else I can do?

I'd try to install Adobe Reader or the free Foxit Reader - that should help out.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
