i have an HP Pavillion dv8000 laptop and just yesterday my sound was working, and today the sound will not work. The mute button turns on and off to show that it is working, and the sound options under control pannel point to the computers sounds working. All of the volumes are up on the programs i use to run music, and none of the regular computer noises are working. Could this be a wiring problem or possibly something stupid i overlooked? Thakn you for your help...
