My old Presario has a rash of problems... the worst of which is that I cannot connect to my intranet, or straight to the internet. This was not the problem in the past, it just got progressively worse. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

There is a virus that's fairly common now that causes this problem. I'd suggest a free, online scan here to double check your protection: http://safety.live.com/

Thanks for the quick reply... Is there a fix I can implement via removable disk? I cannot get onto the internet with that machine no way, no how.

Try downloading an antivirus and antispyware apps from the web (along with the definition updates) and then install them on the infected system (if it'll allow you to).

I just read about this tool that may help: 13. CYBERHAWK..........Antivirus - hunts down and paralyzes threats that are too new or too clever to be recognized by traditional security software. Cyberhawk uses behavioral analysis to detect malicious computer activity. Traditional antivirus relies on old fashioned "signature" technology that needs to be updated every time a new threat occurs.....(free).....GO THERE!
