my girlfriend is getting harassed by someone and i want to call them. how do i block my own number when i call them so that my number doesnt show up on their caller id?

i have a verizon cell phone.

please help.

*67 is the standard code for a landline, but I have no idea how it would be interpreted by your cell provided. Worth a try though.

*67 +10 digit number - Disable caller id for your call. The party you're calling will see 'Unavailable' instead of your number.

On some cell phones, you have to disable the GPS in order for the info to show up as blocked

Dial 911

Telephone harassment is a violation of Federal law and is punishable with prison time. I would check with your local phone company for a way to trace the offender and then turn it over to them, and your local police department.

Even if you block you number from appearing on their phone, the phone company will record your number along with the time and date of call. If you threaten the jerk, and he wants to prosecute you, he can. Moral of the story - be careful and let the authorities take care of them.

I know it's a pain and no one should have to be harassed. :thumbsup:
