I have one of these boards that under the original 0816 BIOS suported overclocking the CPU and memory. Since updating to the lastest release (1577) the option to overclock the CPU seems to have been blanked out. I original had some memory and disk problems with my build and while swapping memory in any out to isolate the problem I think I remember seening the CPU configuration option. Has anyone seen this or have they suggestions as to how to correct the problem?

Some manufacturers make you access a special mode or agree to an EULA to unlock overclocking options. Maybe they added something like that. If they did there should be a mention of it somewhere in the release notes.

What kind of BIOS is it? (AMI, American Megatrends, Phoenix, etc)

On some of the recent boards that I've seen, it's just that a default setting has disabled the overclocking options. There should be something in the BIOS about the CPU and something like Auto being related to it. Switching it to Manual may open up the options.

I'd check this link for further information: http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/dg965wh/tools.htm

I've got the same board, but it's sitting in it's box on my desk waiting for me to get around to ordering the rest of the parts to build a system.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
