Hello again,
Please print off a copy of these instructions, and also save them to a Notepad file on your desktop, so they are easily accessible.
We are going to boot into Safe Mode later in the fix, and there is no internet access.

You're using an outdated version of Java (latest one is Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6). Please update and remove the older versions. Do the following:
Go to Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
It should have this icon next to it: Posted Image
Select it and click Remove.
Then download and install the newest version from here:
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6

Scan again with HijackThis and put a checkmark next to each of the following entries (if present):

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - (no file)
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {00A6FAF6-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [czpeexk.dll] C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe "C:\Documents and Settings\Barbara Semione\Local Settings\Application Data\czpeexk.dll",rzqlgze
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredits/...?p=ZRYYYYYYYYUS
O23 - Service: Microsoft authenticate service (MsaSvc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\msasvc.exe

Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

Now, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
This is done by rebooting Windows and pressing F8 at boot/Windows startup, usually right after the beep.
Then select Safe Mode from the list.

Set your system to show all files.
Navigate to Start | My Computer | Tools | Folder Options.
Select the View tab. Under the "Hidden Files and Folders" heading, select "Show hidden files and folders".
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.

Next, please find and delete the following files (if present):

C:\Documents and Settings\Barbara Semione\Local Settings\Application Data\czpeexk.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msasvc.exe

======

Copy and paste the following text into Notepad:
sc stop MsaSvc
sc delete MsaSvc
Save this as "services.bat" Choose to save as *all files and place it on your Desktop.
Double-click services.bat.

Reboot into Normal Mode again.

Please visit the online Jotti Virus Scanner
Click on Browse button.
Copy and paste the following filepath in the box:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\itbwqwf.dll

Click on the Open button.
The scanner will check the file with various AV companies.
Copy and paste the results box into a reply to this thread.

Please post me back a new HijackThis log, along with the Jotti results.
Thanks,
Charles

I think that helped alot, however now im getting blue screen with the following data:
Stop: 0x0000008E - system32: lzx32.sys

and it shuts down my computer and i have to restart.

Also when I did the Jotti scan I came with with no results, maybe cause when i go to the path you asked me to check with jotti the file is not there?

Thank you for your help with my computer issues, I really appreciate it.

Happy Holidays
David J Semione

Hey daveys93,
Download this file, and save it to your Desktop:
http://www.uploads.ejvindh.net/rustbfix.exe

Double click on rustbfix.exe to run the tool. If a Rustock.b-infection is found, you will shortly hereafter be asked to reboot the computer. The reboot will probably take quite a while, and perhaps 2 reboots will be needed. But this will happen automatically. After the reboot 2 logfiles will open (%root%\avenger.txt & %root%\rustbfix\pelog.txt). Post the content of these logfiles in your next reply.

Download Combofix to your desktop.
Double click combo.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.
When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt. Post that in your next reply.

Post me back the three logfiles,
Thanks,
Charles

Hey David,

Sorry about the late reply to this topic but I am trying to fix this computer (my parents) while I am at their home on the weekends over the holidays. Here are the logs you requested, and thank you for all that you have done to help me out with this, It was so very helpful.

Don't worry about taking a while to reply; I'm not going anywhere. You're very welcome for the help

Please print off a copy of these instructions, and also save them to a Notepad file on your desktop, so they are easily accessible.
We are going to boot into Safe Mode later in the fix, and there is no internet access.

Scan again with HijackThis and put a checkmark next to each of the following entries (if present):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UserFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -u

Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

Now, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
This is done by rebooting Windows and pressing F8 at boot/Windows startup, usually right after the beep.
Then select Safe Mode from the list.

Next, please find and delete the following files (if present):

C:\{0000183C-0000-0000-FC84-99D66A3B8364}
C:\avqid.exe

Reboot into Normal Mode again.

Please run Panda's ActiveScan.
Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
A new window will open, click the Check Now button.
Enter your personal details.
Click the big Scan Now button.
It will ask to install various content - please allow this.
It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan, which may take a while.
When download is complete, click on Local Disks to start the scan.
When the scan completes, click the See Report button.
Click Save Report and save the file to your Desktop, so you can post this log in your next reply.

Post me back the Panda report, tell me how things are running, and also what you know about C:\Documents and Settings\Barbara Semione\Application Data\HbTools_Icons.
Thanks,
Charles
