Test Media Cable Failed On Start Up

when i load up my laptop (parkard bell) it goes to the normal grey screen where you can enter the bios, this screen then takes quiet along time to change about 15secs then goes on to a black screen which tells me i have failed a media cable test?
iv had a look on the internet and have found out its to do with the hard disk and had ago at trying to fix it through the bios but with no joy.
just wondering if some one can help?

Try one of the hard disk tests from the hard drive manufacturer's website to see if you can at least access it. It could also be that the hard drive is loose in it's mounting - you could try opening up the compartment to see if the is the case (be sure to unplug it, remove the battery, and touch the metal of the case to ensure it doesn't get shocked with static).

If it's not that you'll have to find someone experienced in laptop repair.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

thanks for the advice
but iv now found after the grey screen i just get a blue black screen then after bout 3 mins tells me that a certain file is missing or corrupt

Try a bootable hard drive test (usually available from the hard drive manufacturer for free) to see if it's the drive or it's the OS.
