Just wanted to share a sad bit of local news with you guys.

Someone refused to buy a Christmas tree and decided to chop one down that a neighborhood decorates every year.
Here's the story:

Whoever chopped down this tree wasn't desperate - nope, they simply have the morals of slug-bait . And one can only hope Santa leaves a huge pile of reindeer poop on their front doorstep on Christmas Eve!
Never let your computer realize you are in a hurry or just typing the last few words of a vital document.

While outer events might make one happy or sad, happiness itself is entirely internal, and at all times completely within one's power.

My guess tink356 is if this thief is brazen enough to steal a Christmas tree,I would think he probably would have stolen all the Chritmas presents for his children from the local stores as well. One just doesn't become an instant thief IMHO.It goes to show even your beautiful islands can't escape the scum of the earth.
I would only hope Santa and all his reindeers all relieve themselves down this idiots chimney. :flowers:

We're not exactly known for our pine trees growing wild here, so when something like this occurs, it's a mindblower!
Does this sort of thing occur elsewhere, where the trees grow everywhere?
Forgive me for being naive, I just can't fathom someone doing something so stupid. I know trees here are expensive here, $80-$100 I heard, which is why we bought a $30 5 ft. plastic tree (because I really don't like the smell) so we can re-use it and not go broke just buying a tree every year (and then cleaning up after them).

When we were younger, my mom just got one of those potted pines just so things would be Christmas-y without spending all that money on a HUGE tree.

It goes to show even your beautiful islands can't escape the scum of the earth.

We've definitely got lots of idiots here, it's just not the first thing you think of when you think 'Hawaii'. :flowers:

I was thinking along the lines of "The Village Idiot" also.
