I have an XP(Dell) HOME edition: Some weeks ago, and for no "known" reason, I can no longer use my system restore.. I have, in the past, relied on it occasionally.. But now I cannot restore anything no matter what restore date I use.

I am not sure of anything but it is possible(just possible) that I might have uninstalled or"deleted" something that I should not have.

Any suggestions? Willy123

I have the same problem with my DELL XP Pro. I tried to use System Restore to fix a problem I am having with the PC not botting up as quick as it used to but I was unable to use the System Restore either so I am very interested in any assistance to this question too. Thanks.

The info in the above link should have the info you need to fix system restore. Note in the bottom of the page is info on how to reinstall system restore if necessary.

There's a possibility that this may be related to malware. I'd suggest a free online scan here first: http://safety.live.com
