Windows XP-home SP2.
Is there a way to change, slightly, the order in which various services start when you boot a computer?
I realize the system has to do its thing in sequence and I'm not about to start interfering with that part. But there are services somewhat necessary which sometimes start before something more important.

I tried several "Start-up Managers" to get my security apps to load before windows connected to the Net, and while some worked, it added minutes to the boot processes. Now I simply unplug my cable at shut-down, boot my system bare, and load my security manually after the suprisingly quick boot and load. More for me to do each time but it has turned out to be quicker.(and safer)
