Hi guys!
Dumb question for you, I know. But I can't find the trick anymore.
Alzheimer is getting to me maybe?
How do I proceed to make a back up?
Many thanks ... and laugh at me if you will; merry people live longer.

Hi!
I ran a scan with Hijackthis every week or so and I occasionally save a log.
I think it would eb safe to make a back up of the scan prior to attempting to delete anything from the generated list.
That's where I have a problem.
I couldn't find the instructions in Hijackthis, on how to do a back up.
Thanks

Hijack does a backup for you but you have to have hijack in a permant file location like C:\hijack

To locate the backups go to the 3rd button - view the list of backups

Thanks for the info, which I read after posting my 2nd question.
You say Hijackthis makes a backup on its own, automatically, I gather.
I can not locate it for one. Secondly, I don't understans why the creator of Hijackthis says to make a backup before ding anything to the list.
All this is not clear to me.
Thanks for any clarification.

Thanks,
I saw post #4. It says that Hijackthis does a backup.
I see the list.
Yet, the last backup dates back Oct. 20.
I ran the software many times since. I thought there should be more recent back ups.
Still can't understand what it is supposed to be.

If you do not fix anything there is nothing to back up - it only backs up changes
