Can Not Connect To The Internet

i cant connect to the internet on my home comp. it always says phone line in use and it is not. i have checked the phone and there is a dial tone also i made sure that the phone lines are in right. what do i do? :thumbsup:

Hi clueless3 and Welcome to Bleeping Computer,
Go to Connection Properties,and find the box that says "Wait for Dial Tone".
Do a little experiment by checking and unchecking it and see if there is a difference.(You probably have to apply/okay your changes)
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.
