Is it possible to delete the search history on Google?. Every time I click on a search or even a letter a dropdown menu appears with a history of everything that has ever been sought beginning with that letter. I find it irritating but can't seem to find out how to delete this menu. I tried the preferences tab and deleted internet history and temporary internet files but this still hasn't cleared it. Can anyone explain how to get rid of this menu?.
Thanks in advance for any help.

What browser are you using?(FireFox, Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, etc)
Also, respond back with the version.

Thanks.

I mainly use IE7 but also use the latest Firefox. I think it is Firefox 2

In Firefox: You can clear the search history, in the Google search that appears on the top left side of your screen, by right-clicking and selecting Clear Search History. On mine, I also turned off the Show suggestions option. Personally, I find it annoying.

You can turn it off for good, by going under, Tools, Options.., click the Privacy button(at the top)
Under History, Uncheck Remember what I enter in forms and the search bar

I don't use IE 7, so someone else will need to answer that one.

By the way, I found a website with instructions to remove your search history within IE7.
