I'm running Windows XP. All of the sudden I can't listen to any of my music, watch videos on the harddrive or online from youtube etc.
If I try to listen to music through Window's Media Player, the equalizer stops and freezes. However, the time clock for the song keeps going. Is the song still playing? Don't know because no sound works now whether through my headphones or speakers.
If I try to watch a video on youtube for example, the browser locks up (whether IE or Firefox) and I have to control/alt/delete to close it out because all open internet windows freeze.
I have run adaware and spybot and only find the typical junk and delete it. I have NAV 2005 but it is outdated by several months. I can't update it but run it anyway and it finds nothing.
Do I have a virus etc? Should I buy the NAV 2007 to see if that finds a virus?
I just don't know what the problem is. It seems to affect audio and video but I'm sure there are other things affected. I have no sound working at all now and videos won't play.
Thanks in advance for your help!
