Hello,
So i was looking at the firefox piplining threads and then i typed about:config in the address bar, but i forgot to delete the http:// and then i ended up at about.com (stupid me). i was wondering if about.com is a safe site and is getting to about.com by typing hxxp://about:config safe?

A good way to know if a site is safe, using FF or IE, is SITE ADVISOR. The colour of the window gives you a quick indication. It is available here: http://www.siteadvisor.com/download/ff.html
