I was using "autoruns" to find some useless apps that I could set off at the startup, but it seems that I had some malware, so I deselected some initial configuration files with the intention of getting rid of this malware, but I may have deselected the wrong file.

I was trying to fix this problem from the Recovery Console, but I don't want to make a mess.

Sorry dude, but I don't know how to get into that "START RUN sfc /scannow"....

Certainly, I have the Windows XP, installation cd, but i can't get anything else more than Repair Console or the whole OS re-install.

If you can't get into Windows, try these three commands from the recovery console:
fixmbr
fixboot
bootcfg /rebuild

They may or may not help. If not, then you're faced with a repair install of XP: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
