Yes, I did wait 12 hours to get Wii on launch day. I was third in line because Wal-Mart wouldn't let anyone line up before Noon. There were about 30 people there, 7 or so were there for 10 hours or longer (i.e. me) and the rest seemed to all come at 6pm.

We sat around (indoors, they were nice enough to even feed us snacks) and played Mario Kart, and talked about favorite games and games in general. No one was pushy, everyone got along (unlike those Sony fanboys).

I'd say it was worth it. Yes, the graphics aren't that great, but remember why we still play Super Mario Bros. when we had Splinter Cell on PS2? The games are pure fun. And graphics don't matter when you are having more fun than before.

So far I have Wii Sports and Call of Duty 3. I've rented Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. The controls feel natural - when you try a new game, it feels like you've done it before, like it's natural.

Go easy on that fanboy talk..... Just because some idiots broke the law to get a ps3 doesn't mean all, or even the majority, of sony fans would do the same thing.

Personally, i could care less about the wii. Some of my friends at NCSU have it, and it just didn't excite me. I played wii sports and some Zelda: TP, but it just didn't impress me all that much. Maybe it's just because i was majorly disappointed with the gamecube. Nintendo's going to have to do something majorly impressive to win me back.... I haven't been a die-hard N fan since SNES....

I dont like the wii much. Uniqueness I give it a 7 out of 10.

I mean the graphics arent as good as the ps2. We have been playing mario for years on so many systems its getting old. Mario has been out since the first nintendo. Those huge cartridge games. Then the super nintendo with smaller cartidges, more games, better audio and graphics.

You know, I've played Call of Duty 3 and Madden '07 for XBox 360, and yes they do look great, but they're more fun on the Wii. You have to do as Nintendo is doing: look past the graphics and towards what makes the games fun - the originality and freshness. Playing Madden '07 on 360 is like playing '06 and '05 and '04 with pretty graphics - not much has changed in terms of what you're actually doing - the button scheme is pretty much the same, so you could easily memorize it and dominate. With the Wii, every single kick and pass is different because you actually have to do it.

I was a Sony fan, but they kinda dug a hole this time around. And, Wii was the only system I wanted to afford at the time.

Yes i totally agree, the wii will be the first new game system i buy, not only because it will be the only one i can afford, but i think that it has the most originality. even though i will eventually own a 360 and a ps3 but not until i get it at walmart with one of those $150 deals bundled with three games lol
